We all scream for ice cream, especially during the dog days of summer. In today’s day and age, we are all so calorie and health conscious, that we usually shun ice cream and opt for an ice cold GREEN JUICE. No thanks.
When my husband came home last year with Halo Top, all of our ice cream fears and sadness flew away and were immediately replaced with this beauty that is delicious and HEALTHY ice cream. It was like unicorns and fairies came into our lives and delivered the best possible treats EVER!
Yes, you heard that right. Halo Top ice cream is actually good for you, and it has protein in it. How many grams of protein you ask? Well, in their Vanilla Bean Flavor for example there is 5 grams of protein per serving (1/2 cup), but an entire pint has 20 grams! And sugar, well there isn’t any. Yup, you read that right. They sweeten their flavors using STEVIA, a plant native to Paraguay as well as Erythritol which is a natural sugar found in grapes and pears. While Erythritol is actually a sugar alcohol, the difference is that this one doesn’t cause bloating or affect blood sugar. That means it is safe for diabetics to eat!
Currently there are 17 flavors ranging from Vanilla Bean to Red Velvet and Chocolate. The new flavors were just announced and will be hitting store shelves later this month. New ones to expect, are Cinnamon Roll, Pancakes and Waffles (!!!), Chocolate Covered Bananas, and Rainbow Swirl. Find the entire flavor list HERE.
My favorite as well as my husbands, is Peanut Butter Cup. I am not joking when I say that I buy 6 pints a week. Yes, a week. My husband is insane and literally eats a pint a night! We fight over the swirl of peanut butter inside, it’s that good!
